Provana Group: Event in Izano to Demonstrate Proficiency Check to Contractors and Farms

On March 19, Provana Group presented its solution for the constant monitoring of tractor and trailer tire pressure and temperature to agricultural sector specialists. This solution allows operators and fleet managers of contractors to monitor total cost of ownership by optimizing tire performance, vehicle safety, and operating costs for the contractor/farmer. The goal was to install the Proficiency Check solution on 20 tractor-trailer systems by June.

For this reason, Provana Group invited around twenty large contractors and agricultural companies, as well as tractor, tire, and wheel manufacturers, on July 10 to illustrate the achieved results, share available data, discuss the expectations of the contractors involved in the trial, and raise awareness among operators in the agricultural supply chain. Some of those present were already users of the new technology platform offered by Provana Group.

By connecting the PC Fleet solution to the vehicle’s CAN bus, the cross-referencing of tire pressure and temperature data with real-time fuel consumption was confirmed, therefore quantifying the reduction in fuel consumption (energy efficiency and tire longevity). Provana was able to demonstrate that controlled pressure with the PC Fleet solution, compared to uncontrolled use of pressure and temperature, allows for fuel savings of up to €8,700/year, calculating 2,000 liters/year as the average annual workload, a 47% increase in tire life, remote fleet control (24-hour monitoring), and provides accurate reporting for verification and optimization purposes (data analysis).

Furthermore, drawing on data collected and processed through Artificial Intelligence applications, the PC Fleet platform is able to process key metrics such as daily fuel consumption and tire wear in euros and, upon specific request from an end user, for demonstration purposes, by entering the hourly cost per operator, is also able to calculate the total daily operating cost incurred by each individual operator.

At the request of those present, it was therefore decided to hold a new meeting in Izano in October, open to all operators in the agro-food supply chain, to share a united commitment. While the benefits of fleet monitoring are already evident for current users (reduced downtime, improved tire use, and reduced fuel consumption), the solution proposed by Provana is also a suitable tool for tire and wheel manufacturers to fully leverage technologies such as VF and PFO at the correct pressures, and for tractor manufacturers and dealers to demonstrate optimized fuel consumption associated with tire pressure/temperature. This effectively ensures alignment between market supply and demand, in line with the guidelines of trade associations, which promote agro-mechanization 5.0 and improved energy efficiency through the purchase of enabling technologies such as Proficiency Check.
